I TRAVEL a lot for work and I am hoping to get some advice about some exercises I can do while on the go. Most of the time it’s late and I find myself stuck in a hotel room. When there is a gym, I head down and use it but sometimes the hotel does not have a facility. Any advice you have would be great.

I LIVE near a beautiful park and would really like to incorporate it into my fitness regime. Apart from walking and without bringing equipment with me, what are some exercises I could do?

I HAVE always struggled with exercise as it always seems to flare up pain in my lower back. Which exercises can be undertaken to strengthen the lower back and prevent associated pain? – Heather, age 54.

Q: I KEEP hearing about Pilates and that it is supposed to be good for you. My knees are injured from years of netball and skiing so I find it hard to exercise effectively now. Would Pilates be good for me – and what is it anyway?

Q: I HAVE started an exercise regime and have been going well with it but the last few weeks I have found it is just so hot I can’t seem to get going. With temperatures continuing in the high 30s in coming weeks I am not sure I can stick it out – any suggestions to help me through?

Q: I AM A 52-year-old female and I have kept fit by going to the Gym and playing team sport. Six years ago someone in the family suffered an accident and I stopped the gym, now after two years of illness myself I have not been doing as much team sport either.

Q: I HAVE been doing cardio (treadmill and rower) three times a week and weights twice so am pretty fit but lately I am feeling flat about my exercise and have even put on some weight. Any hints to help me get my enthusiasm back and start seeing some fitness improvements and weight loss for summer?
