When I retire from full-time employment and take out my full superannuation, how long do I have to wait until I can return to the same job in a part-time capacity working 13 hours per week?

Q. When I retire (I’m 57), my super fund requires that I sign a statutory declaration saying that I do not intend to work full-time or part-time again. A financial adviser told me that I would be allowed to work 10 hours a week without contravening that declaration. If I want (or need) to work part-time, casual or freelance after I receive my super, what are the rules? My total super payout will be under the tax-free amount of $140,000.

Q: I AM 56 and own a small marketing company, and at present I am salary sacrificing each year up to the age-based limit of $100,000. I am in the top tax bracket. I intend to wind back over the next few years and think it might be time to assess a Transition to Retirement (TTR) strategy. However, I have heard a TTR strategy is of little value when I am salary sacrificing up to my age-based limit. Do you agree with this or would I be better to wait until 60 to start a TTR?

Q: I'M APPROACHING 65 years old and will be applying for the Age Pension. We have family in Brisbane and Tasmania and would like to split our time. Is there a strategy to allow us to have a modest house in both states (rather than a more substantial house in one place) and not have the second house listed as an asset under the Assets Test?

Q: After years in a corporate role I am thinking of reducing my stress levels a little and have been offered a job working for a charity. They've said they can 'package' things that are FBT free. Is this worthwhile?
