I AM 62 years of age and have recently retired permanently. I have about $700,000 in super. Will I have to pay any tax on this balance if I convert it into a pension? I heard the earnings are tax free when in the pension phase.

My husband retires next year, at 65. I’m 69 and do contract work of at least 30 hours per fortnight. He can’t get a full pension as long as I work but if I stop working and draw out some money from my unpreserved super, will I be taxed? Some friends say I will be but some say I won’t after age 60.
