THINK twice before making a small claim with your car insurer. A Choice review of 44 car insurance policies has found that making small claims can end up costing you more money, as it often results in lost discounts and higher excess charges.

THE commercialisation of GPS navigators was meant to revolutionise driving, de-clutter our glove boxes and keep us from getting lost. Well, two out of three ain’t bad.
Of all the high-tech car gadgets to be popularised in the last decade or so, global positioning systems are surely the most practical. But no matter how expensive or fancy the model you buy, the accuracy of a GPS is always dependent on the reliability of your satellite network and available data. No GPS is foolproof.

But let me save you the trouble of trying to figure out what I’m going to say in my rambling treatise below: the new Jeep Grand Cherokee is good. Not just good for a Chrysler product. Not just good for an American car. It’s good. Full stop.
