Your personal information

The owners, managers, employees, contractors and agents of superliving.com.au (“SuperLiving”) (a division of Aspermont Limited) recognise that your privacy is very important to you. SuperLiving is committed to protecting your personal information and will comply with any laws introduced to strengthen protection of consumer privacy.

Collection of personal information

SuperLiving collects both personal information and anonymous information.

The only personal information SuperLiving collects is what you tell SuperLiving about yourself.

When you join the SuperLiving Room, we require your name, email address and demographic information including state of residence, occupation, age range, income range and investing experience for the purpose of providing you with access to the ‘member’s only’ areas of SuperLiving.

We collect your name, email address and IP address when you submit a comment to ‘Have Your Say’ on an article. We collect this information to identify you as the person submitting to SuperLiving and also for our records.

SuperLiving records some limited personal information about you in the form of cookies. This information is stored on your computer and recalled by our website to identify you as a returning SuperLiving Room member. For more information, see below.

From time to time, SuperLiving will invite you to participate in surveys. Your participation in these surveys will be anonymous to us. Your answers will not be linked to you in any way.

Your web browser automatically provides us with the type of browser you are using, when you visited SuperLiving, your top level domain name (for example .com, .gov, .au, .uk etc.), the address of the website that directed you here, your server’s IP address and which pages you viewed. We only use this information for statistical and internal purposes including improving the functionality of the SuperLiving website. 

Use of personal information

Unless required by law, SuperLiving will not use or disclose any specific information about you without your prior consent.

When you submit a comment to ‘Have Your Say’ or in the SuperLiving Room community forum, your name will be published alongside your comment, unless you tell us otherwise.

Any personal information included in a comment to ‘Have Your Say’ or in the SuperLiving Room community forum will be published on the internet. In the case of comments to ‘Have Your Say’, this personal information will be available to everyone, and in the case of the SuperLiving Room community forum, to all present and future SuperLiving Room members. You should exercise your discretion in publishing your personal information on the internet.

We may use your personal information to get a better understanding of your needs. Unless you tell us otherwise, we may use this information to bring you products and services which we believe will benefit you and your business. If you are receiving promotional information from SuperLiving and do not wish to receive this information any longer, you may e-mail SuperLiving on publisher@superliving.com.au.

Anonymous information

We may use anonymous information collected from you for internal purposes including improving SuperLiving.

Some anonymous demographic information, including but not restricted to, age, location, gender, occupation and total net worth and assets may be provided to advertisers for the sole purpose of their designing advertisements for the website. All information disclosed in these circumstances will be stripped of personal information. Your personal information will not be disclosed.

SuperLiving's use of "cookies"

SuperLiving uses cookies to manage user access and subscriptions. A cookie is a small text file that a server places on your hard drive to identify that subsequent requests to a site have come from the same user. SuperLiving.com.au uses cookies to 'remember' your browser between page visits.

The cookie records only your member identification number. After your initial subscription, SuperLiving.com.au recognises you as a member and, if your subscription is current, facilitates direct access to news stories. If the 'cookie' is not present, members will be asked to provide their email address and SuperLiving.com.au password.

Members who choose not to accept 'cookies' from SuperLiving.com.au can use the service by entering their email address and password at the beginning of each visit.

If you are a SuperLiving Room member, you can access the personal information we hold about you at the Update Details page. You can use this page to correct or update your personal information.

To view the personal information we hold about you from any comments you have made to ‘Have Your Say’, email publisher@superliving.com.au.

Storage and security of your details

SuperLiving will endeavour to take all reasonable steps to keep secure any information that it possesses about you. SuperLiving encourages you to play an important role in keeping your personal information secure, by maintaining the confidentiality of any passwords and account details used on the website. It is your sole responsibility to maintain such confidentiality and SuperLiving will not be liable for any damage, loss or expense suffered due to such disclosure.

 Acts in the course of journalism

To the extent the SuperLiving website carries on activities in the course of journalism (including investigating, preparing and publishing news, articles, reviews and current events), then its acts will be exempt from the requirements of the Privacy Act. However SuperLiving will deal with personal information in accordance with the privacy standards as set out by the Australian Press Council.
